Rubi: 'We have a very good squad, although we miss one more winger'

The UD Almería head coach spoke about the transfer window and the match against Sporting: 'If you don't seize the chances, you won't win the match.' The Rojiblancos rest this Monday and get back to training on Tuesday

UD Almería head coach Rubi gave his post-match assessment in the press conference and also spoke about the summer transfer window that closed at midnight last Friday. 'If you don't seize the chances in the opponents' area.. you cannot manage the game out. We've created enough chances and in the end, a left-back scores,' he explained.

'I'm happy with our game, but I don't like not seizing the opportunities. When this happens, we'll have more comfortable endings in the matches. I'm sure,' the Catalan stated.

'We've done the most difficult thing, which is scoring in the last minutes after creating so many chances, and yet they tied in a play that for me is very dubious,' the Vilassar de Mar native reflected.

Regarding the recent transfer window deadline day, Rubi made it clear: 'We have a very good squad. Everyone says it, although we miss one more winger. I know that the Club has been making a great effort to sign one and was close to it, but in the end it couldn't be arranged.' However, the squad players, as well as those 'B' team youngsters give the gaffer options for this position (winger) that he was looking to fill in with a Ramazani-like attacking, vertical and fast footballer

With the UD Almería squad already complete, although Rubi confirmed that César Montes might be transferred because the transfer window in Mexico ends later, the Rojiblancos will face the remainder of the season until the next January transfer window opens. At the moment, there are  enough talented Indálicos to fight for promotion.

The team will have a day off on Monday, and will resume training on Tuesday (10:15am) to prepare for a trip to the Alicante-based town of Elda since recently-promoted CD Eldense host Rubi's side on Sunday for a 6:30pm kick-off.
