Rubi: 'CD Eldense match is different from the others and we'll have to know how to control them'

UD Almería head coach Rubi praises CD Eldense and highlights their power in attack. At the same time, he wants his side to go at a comfortable speed in the league to get to the top of the standings

'Somehow CD Eldense match is different from the others and we'll have to know how to control them,' stated UD Almería head coach Rubi in the pre-match press conference. He praised this Sunday's rivals, about whom he said: 'I had the opportunity to attend their first league match in which they beat CD Tenerife and the truth is that there is a very good and healthy atmosphere with their fans devoted to their team when they play at home.'

'CD Eldense have been doing things very well for some time now. We'll have to be very focused, but especially to the set pieces because it's their biggest strength, also their attacking players have a lot of fluidity in their game and they're very good at second balls,' he added.

'They're one of those teams who shoots on goal the most. We're two teams that like to play vertical football, each with their own game and I reckon the goalkeepers are going to have work. What I hope is that their goalkeeper has to save more goals than ours,' the Catalan explained as he kept on praising them.

Rubi has full confidence in his side and in fact explained: 'We're playing spells of very good football and what I hope is that we go at a comfortable speed in the league with several victories, so as to get to the top of the standings… we're close.'

During the press conference, the Rojiblancos' gaffer was asked about César Montes, answering: 'He's with the Mexican national team and I don't know if there is anything else about him' regarding his possible exit to a country whose transfer market is still open.

Rubi was also asked about the situation of Lucas Robertone, whose shoulder is playing up : 'Now he has protection and we'll see if it fixes the joint better. Otherwise, we believe that in the medium or long term he'll have to undergo surgery, perhaps during the Christmas break. It's something to be decided by everyone, by the player, medical services, coaching staff and Club.'

As for the UD Almería fans...the gaffer said: 'They're going to have short trips this season and what we want for them is to return happily after the games. We're very grateful to them for their constant support.'

Finally, he stressed that it was necessary to ask for the Segunda division pause over the international matches. UD Almería are  disadvantaged by having several internationals in the squad. For instance, Bruno Langa and César Montes will be absent in Elda this Sunday.
