Countdown to UD Almería 'B' debut in Segunda RFEF begins

The UD Almería Academy team visit Águilas FC on Saturday for a 7:30pm kick-off. The opponents will fight for promotion to the third-tier of Spanish football as they did last season

The countdown to UD Almería 'B' debut on fourth-tier Segunda RFEF has begun. They earned promotion last June after a really exciting play-off. They had been fighting for this goal in recent seasons and has finally been achieved. On Saturday at 7:30pm, the UDA 'B' team visit Águilas FC at El Rubial pitch in this Murcia-based town. 
 
The rivals, chaired by Alfonso García, will be one of the toughest sides within Group IV. Last season, he fought to the death to move up to the third tier of Spanish football. To begin with, it will be a very difficult match.
 
There are many players from last campaign's squad who have welcomed 6 new additions: goalkeeper Jesús López (Ilicitano), the left-back Nacho Vila (Alzira), midfielder Rubén Quintanilla (Mallorca B), wingers Marko Perovic (FK Jezero, from Montenegro) and Dacal (Sporting de Gijón B) and forward Manu Morillo (Betis B). 
 
In addition, some UD Almería U19 'B' youngsters have made the leap to the recently-promotion 'B' team and others who were on loan are now back. 
 
UD Almería 'B' are training at the La Vega de Acá facilities and have completed preparations to try to start an exciting and tough-looking season on the right foot.
