UD Almería Women failed to pick up any points on Matchday 1 after being edged out by Alhama de Murcia Women who took a direct free-kick well. The Rojiblancas faced the match missing some good players in the squad and therefore, this circumstance was a serious handicap. Despite this, they were fully involved in the curtain-raiser of the season at all times, whipping in their chances, but the Alhama girls did well with the great goal they scored from a direct free-kick in the 59th minute to pick up the three points.
Before and after the goal, there was alternate dominance with opportunities for both, the clearest being those of the hosts. The Almería goalkeeper put in an outstanding performance.
UD Almería Women squad list: Andrea, Conchita, Marina, Mireya, Carmen, Cañadas, Marisa, Carla, Gisela, Aitana and Liubov started. Blanca, Carlota, Jacque and Mar also played as subs.
