0-1: Decisive goal sends UD Almería 'B' top of the table

The UDA Academy prospects defeated CF Villanovense to place themselves as Segunda RFEF Group IV leaders. Next Sunday, they host Linares Deportivo on the Anexo pitch

Joan's second-half decisive goal sends UD Almería 'B' top of the Segunda RFEF Group IV table. They won 0-1 on the CF Villanovense pitch and after three matchweeks in this new tier for the team, the UDA youth players have 7 of the 9 points at stake. They shared the spoils with FC Águilas, thrashed Balompédica Linense on home soil and now they have come away with an all-important victory clinched at the Badajoz-based town of Villanueva de La Serena.

UD Almería 'B' gaffer Alberto Lasarte said on the eve of the game that his boys still had room for improvement and also insisted on the way to start the matches. Both in Águilas and at home against 'La Balona',  they conceded very early and in both cases they had to stage comebacks. However, that did not happen this time. The team had learned their lesson and looked on it and were confident from the off, especially when the opponents came out with great intensity because they only had one point in the standings and were looking for their first victory.

UD Almería 'B' despite their lack of experience due to the age of the players and being new to the tier, did not show greenness. The lads had very clear ideas at all times as they knew how to keep CF Villanovense at bay. Despite going through some difficulties, they had opportunities attacking and a few minutes into the second half, Joan converted one of the big chances.

UD Almería 'B' put in a brave fight to remain in the lead to achieve a victory that has sent them to the top of the table. The changes made gave greater consistency to the group. Now, the youthful Indálicos, who are also the group's top scoring team with 7 goals in 3 games, will host one of the candidates for promotion, recently-relegated Linares Deportivo. The league appointment takes place at 12 noon next Sunday on the Anexo pitch.
